The Original range provides a nutritionally complete and balanced diet. It has been developed with the help of nutritional experts to meet the daily dietary needs of each specific pet species.
We include a Recommended Daily Allowance panel on the front of each bag. This shows you that the recipe contains everything your pet needs for a healthy diet.
On the RDA panels of our herbivorous diets, it also says ‘+ hay + water’ – that’s because rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and degus need plenty of hay and water to enrich their environment and to help wear their constantly growing teeth.
The ingredients we use are matched to the pet’s needs for protein (for growth), carbohydrates (for energy), fibre (for digestion and to help keep teeth healthy), oils (for healthy skins and glossy coats), as well as vitamins and minerals (for bones, teeth and skin).
With muesli style mixes, always ensure that the first portion has been completely eaten before feeding the second to help prevent selective feeding. Selective feeding is when your pet only picks out selected pieces of the muesli mix. If this happens your pet will not get all the nutrition it needs.
